Welcome to the first-ever Breckenridge Wildflower Week – a partner-powered celebration of peak bloom season in the Rockies! From plein air painting in alpine gardens to guided meadow hikes, botanical-inspired cocktails, creative workshops, kid-friendly crafts, and sustainable nature education, this 11-day festival invites everyone to experience and fall in love with the colors of summer.
Rooted in Leave No Trace principles and created in collaboration with our local arts, trails, and business partners, Wildflower Week blends nature, creativity, and adventure into one vibrant, only-in-Breckenridge experience.

NRO’s Music in the Mountains
This National Repertory Orchestra series is held in historical and public art spaces throughout town, blending chamber music with engaging stories and context provided by our community partners about each unique location. This series combines live music with Breckenridge’s local history and public art.

Wildflower Bouquet Building & Kid’s Flower Art @ Hotel Alpenrock
Come get creative at Hotel Alpenrock! Join us for an evening of bouquet-making for the grown-ups, while the little ones explore their artistic side at the Pressed Flower Art station. It’s a floral fun night for the whole family.

Wildflower Weekend kicks off July 2nd in Breckenridge, Colorado! Head to the Thursday Farmer’s Market to explore flower blooms, locally produced honey and other Colorado-produce. Walk down the block to the Ridge Street Arts Square for live music at the AirStage and free wildflower-centered crafts for kiddos presented by BreckCreate.

Guided Wildflower Hike – Sawmill Reservoir
Join the Breckenridge Open Space and Trails naturalists on a guided hike to Sawmill Reservoir. Meet your naturalist at the Sawmill Reservoir Parking lot, next to the Scott Grifith Lodge, on Snowy Ridge Dr. This is an easy, 1.5 mile hike around the Sawmill Reservoir to learn about native wildflowers during Wildflower Week! This mostly-flat hike is great for people of all ages.
Capacity: 15 people, ages 12 and older.

Floral Cocktails & Music at Breckenridge Distillery
Imbibe on an exclusive lineup of wildflower-themed cocktails and mocktails at the World’s Highest Distillery. Sit on the patio to enjoy tunes from the National Repertory Orchestra musicians, plus, kids can enjoy a colorful drop-in craft zone perfect for young creatives to paint, glue, and sparkle their way into Wildflower Week.

Breck Create Stained Glass Flower Bolo Ties
Saddle up and add a little sparkle to your style in this playful stained glass class. Perfect for beginners, this hands-on workshop will teach you how to cut, grind, foil, and solder your way to a finished piece of wearable art. All tools and materials are provided.

Breckenridge July 4th Celebration
Every Independence Day, Breckenridge comes alive with patriotism, parties and the annual Main Street Parade. It’s a day of celebration that includes athletic competitions, live music, art festivals, family activities and a few of our favorite small-town traditions. Guided Wildflower Hike – Blue River Trail
Join the Breckenridge Open Space and Trails naturalists on a guided hike on Blue River Trail. Meet your naturalist at Blue River Trailhead on Boreas Pass Road. This is a 2-mile easy hike. Limited parking- it is recommended to park at or take the free ride bus to the Stephen C. West Ice Arena and walk up to the trailhead. Capacity: 20 people, no age requirement.

Pedal & Petals with Colorado Adventure Guides – Half-off for Wildflower Week!
Take in Breckenridge’s peak bloom season from a whole new perspective on this guided mountain bike ride with Colorado Adventure Guides. As part of Wildflower Week, this half-price family-friendly ride offers a fun way to experience Breckenridge’s colorful summer landscapes with a fun, knowledgeable local guide leading the way!

NRO’s Symphony in the Streets
Symphony in the Streets is a vibrant, day-long celebration that will transform Breckenridge into a sprawling outdoor musical venue, with ensembles from the National Repertory Orchestra serenading audiences in parks and beloved locations across the town throughout the day.

Guided Wildflower Hike – Horseshoe Bowl
Join the Breckenridge Open Space and Trails naturalists on a guided hike to Horseshoe Bowl on Breckenridge Ski Resort. Meet your naturalist at Peak 8 Village, accessible via the free gondola or Breck free ride bus. This is a 2-mile moderate hike at high elevation, which requires riding the chairlift ($10 fee for non-Epic Pass holders, free for pass holders). Capacity: 15 people, ages 12 and older.

National Repertory Orchestra Performance @ Breckenridge Distillery
Head to the Breckenridge Distillery to enjoy a live performance from the National Repertory Orchestra on the expansive outdoor patio. Enjoy beverages (alcoholic or sober-friendly) and seasonal, fresh bites.

Breck Create Columbine Flower Mosaics
Transforming colorful glass, ceramics and stone into an original mosaic is a rewarding artform that has been practiced for centuries. Throughout the class, learn essential techniques like cutting, arranging and grouting while crafting your design.

Guided Wildflower Hike – Black Powder Pass
Join the Breckenridge Open Space and Trails naturalists on a guided hike on Black Powder Pass. Meet your naturalist at Black Powder Pass trailhead on Boreas Pass Road. This is a 3-mile difficult hike with over 700 feet of elevation gain at high elevation. Please plan accordingly. 4-wheel drive is recommended. Capacity: 15 people, ages 12 and older.

Breck Create Watercolor Painting: Whimsical Wildflower Landscapes
Whether you want to capture a field of poppies with precision or simply play with the vibrant energy of a meadow, this session is about interpreting the life and movement of wildflowers into surreal, expressive moments on your paper.

Cocktail Course at Breckenridge Distillery
Head to the Breckenridge Distillery for an intimate, hands-on wildflower cocktail/mocktail creation course. Learn how to make delicious drinks from sustainably sourced wildflowers. Capacity: 14 people, ages 21+.

Guided Wildflower Hike – Cucumber Gulch Preserve
Join the Breckenridge Open Space and Trails naturalists on a guided hike in Cucumber Gulch Preserve. Meet your naturalist at Peaks trailhead on Ski Hill road. This is a 1.5-mile easy hike, great for families and small children. Limited parking- it is recommended to take the gondola or Breck free ride bus to Peak 7, and walk the road over to the trailhead. Capacity: 7 people, no age requirement.

Breck Create Beginning Glassblowing: Flower Implosions
Learn the art of lampworking (a form of glassblowing) by developing and honing your skills. Work with a torch and flame to melt glass rods into works of art and explore the possibilities of Borosilicate glass. In this class we will explore creating stringers (thin pieces of glass) and Implosions. Your creativity will blossom as you create intricate flowers encased in molten glass through the implosion technique.

Guided Wildflower Hike – Baldy Mountain Meadow
Join the Breckenridge Open Space and Trails naturalists on a guided hike at Baldy Mountain Meadow. Meet your naturalist at Baldy Mountain trailhead on Baldy Road. This is a 3-mile difficult hike with over 700 feet of elevation gain at high elevation. Please plan accordingly. Limited parking- it is recommended to take the Swan Mountain Flyer free bus to the trailhead (Emmit Lode stop), and walk to the trailhead. Capacity: 15 people, ages 12 and older.

Breck Create Plein Air Painting: Wildflower Watercolor Painting
Step into the vibrant heart of the meadow with this class, where the studio is replaced by the open air and the shifting light of nature. Designed for all skill levels, this immersive session focuses on capturing the untamed beauty of local flora through fluid washes and delicate brushwork.

Open Flow Sound Healing
Slow down, breathe, and reconnect as you move through the beauty of Wildflower Week. This is a 90-minute open flow sound healing experience designed to meet you wherever you are. As you explore, you’re invited to pause along your walk — stand, sit, or bring a blanket and settle in to receive the calming, grounding frequencies of sound.
Come, pause, and enjoy sound healing along your walk — whether you stay for 10 minutes or longer, you’re welcome to receive and continue on as you feel called.
This offering is an invitation into stillness, presence, and connection with both nature and yourself.
No experience needed — simply arrive and allow yourself to receive.

Wildflower Crafts at Wandering Daisy
Join the ladies of Wandering Daisy for a crafternoon of pressed flowers. Journals and tiny framed flower artwork will be taught by Genevieve and made by you. Stop by between 3-6pm on Friday, July 10, and make something beautiful to celebrate Breck’s wildflower week!

Breck Create Natural Pigment-Making, Color Palettes: Berries, Plants + Ephemeral Color
Using simplified traditional techniques, students will explore how paint can be created from foraged materials found in our mountain landscape.
Each session will involve grinding raw materials into pigment, mixing them with binding mediums, and experimenting with the unique color palette created from that week’s materials.

Community Weed Pull
Join Breckenridge Open Space & Trails for a hands-on stewardship morning focused on pulling invasive weeds to help native wildflowers thrive. The Friends of Breckenridge Trails team will focus on a few key areas around town to help protect our local Open Spaces.
Learn about invasive weeds, their impact on the environment, and how to remove them properly. It’s a great way to get outside, give back, and make a visible difference in the places we all love!
Please plan to park or carpool at the River Park Playground. Be prepared to work outdoors, bring sturdy footwear, layered clothing, water, and work gloves.

43rd Annual Mountain Art Festival
Enjoy a nationally ranked fine art festival set under the beautiful backdrop of Breckenridge, Colorado. Juried art show will feature top artists in 13 categories. Artists will all be present to discuss their original work and do demonstrations.
