Official Website for Breckenridge, Colorado Named Honoree in 23rd Annual Webby Awards
Breckenridge Tourism Office (BTO), in partnership with the New York City-based Bellweather Agency, earned the distinction of Webby Honoree for GoBreck.com in the Website Best Visual Design – Function category by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) in the 23rd Annual Webby Awards.
The Webby Awards has been celebrating the best of the Internet for over 20 years: nearly half the life of the Internet itself. Webby Honoree designation is only granted to the top 20% of all work entered. GoBreck.com stood tall as the only Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) alongside other honorees like ESPN – Body10 and Finavia Experience. YouTube Rewind 2018, Unstoppable by Planned Parenthood and The Lego Foundation topped the ranks as 2019 Webby winners.
“I’m not sure if humbled really sums up what it feels like to have our work and our home sit alongside some of the heavy hitters in this year’s Webby honoree lineup,” said Brett Howard, Chief Marketing Officer for the Breckenridge Tourism Office. “We’ve worked tirelessly with an amazing partner, Bellweather Agency, to inspire travelers by showcasing Breckenridge’s soul on a virtual level, with a recognition like this, our stoke is all time.”
The redesigned GoBreck.com, launched in early April 2018, was built with a best-in-class, mobile-first strategy throughout, including Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) animation that offers a movie-like feel to the videos on the site and attracts viewers to Breckenridge’s amazing landscape and imagery. Additionally, the site includes accelerated mobile pages (AMP) that improve the overall experience for mobile users visiting the site.
“We designed the site to reflect Breckenridge’s energy, friendliness, and breathtaking scenery. Very few destination websites receive Webby accolades and we are thrilled to have the site recognized,” said Emily Lessard, Chief Strategy Officer for Bellweather.
GoBreck.com creates a seamless framework to explore and learn about Breckenridge, Colorado while capturing the essence of the historic town using vivid imagery and video alongside dozens of new articles and itineraries from the BTO, each brought to life through Bellweather Agency’s custom mobile-first design.
In 2018, GoBreck.com was also awarded an Outstanding Travel Website by the WebAwards. The WebAwards annually recognize outstanding web design and are juried by industry leaders and experts. GoBreck.com was in good company alongside other 2018 winners: Destination British Columbia, Hilton Head Island, the state of New Jersey and three others.
