Fast & Easy Food Carts in Breckenridge
When it comes to convenient grab-and-go budget bites, Breckenridge is full of walk-up window options. Creative and colorful Breckenridge food carts are strategically nestled into downtown corners and plazas, allowing our beautiful historic town to stay true to its roots while serving the hungry community. Here’s where to enjoy Breckenridge’s food cart scene!
Danielle’s Delights
Backed up against the forested west side of Breckenridge Distillery’s Airport Road parking lot, this humble food cart is making a name for itself. Owner Danielle Walters greets guests with a beaming smile and swift service, doling out fresh-brewed Breckenridge-roasted Helix coffee and steaming lattes alongside her rotating menu of baked delights. Don’t miss her homemade chocolate chunk and oatmeal raisin cookies, decadent vanilla bean scones, playful mini donuts and gluten-free macaroons.
Gyros Delish
Billed as “Authentic Greek Cuisine on Wheels,” Gyros Delish is housed in a blue and white truck in Village Square steps from the base of Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Peak 9 and Maggie Pond. Chef-owner Michael Halouvas takes great pride in his real-deal Aussie lamb gyro, grilled haloumi cheese sandwiches, and rich Grecian hot chocolate. Visit the food cart Thursday through Sunday and be sure to save room for a piece of flaky, buttery, pecan-flecked baklava.
Crepes a la Cart
A Main Street Breckenridge staple with multiple Summit County locations, this popular crepe stand opened in 2000 and has become a must-stop for visitors year after year. Classic French crepes are made to order, served lightly crispy and are generously filled with inventive ingredients like apples and brie or bananas and chocolate chips. Sweet, savory, breakfast, brunch or dessert, the choice is yours. Don’t worry if there’s a line (there usually is), it goes quickly and the outdoor fire pit is nice to gather around while you wait!
SnacFood Empanadas
Sabor Michoacan
A delicious pitstop just off the Summit County Rec Path, cyclists heading north between Breckenridge and Frisco put the brakes on for authentic Mexican street food. Discover this sunshine-hued food cart in the Colorado Building Supply parking lot off Highway 9 and dig into rare taco offerings—think tripa and lengua—tortas, quesadillas and volcanes (a crispy, toasted tortilla topped with oozing cheese and savory fillings that resemble an erupting volcano).
Oaxacan Bites
Sidle up to this buzzing Mexican food stand for breakfast and lunch and join the ranks of loyal locals getting their grilled burrito fix. The walk-up window on North Main Street is known for their humble and kind service and generously stuffed breakfast burritos. Popular lunchtime picks include tacos de pastor loaded with fresh onion, cilantro and creamy guacamole and wrapped in homemade corn tortillas and the Oaxacan wrap composed of beans, quesillo, cabbage and your choice of protein.
The S’more Shack
Conjuring campfire vibes at the base of Peak 9 in Village Plaza, this cozy dessert depot celebrates everyone’s favorite fireside pastime. Put a new spin on s’mores and order a s’mOreo version with Oreo marshmallow and chocolate honey grahams. Or go the traditional route with a classic scratch-made s’more crafted with hand-cut vanilla marshmallows and chocolate ganache. Looking for lunch? Check out the elevated grilled cheese menu where the childhood favorite receives an upgrade with layers that span bacon, tomato, ham, chipotle aioli, and even a handful of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Taqueria Mi Roca
This tucked-away taco truck sits in the Colorado Mountain College parking lot north of town near the free skier parking lot and just a hop-skip from the original Broken Compass Brewing taproom. Indulge in tortas, tacos and hefty burritos filled with slow-cooked shredded and braised beef and other delish meats, and topped with simple fresh onion and cilantro. Fast and flavorful is the name of the game here.
