Whether it’s after-dinner decadence, a post-hike indulgence or just a kids’ day out, here’s where to head for the best sugary pleasures.

Sweet Treats in Breckenridge

La Francaise French Bakery

La Francaise French bakery is up before dawn folding and layering delicate, flaky homemade pastries, tarts and crepes. The buttery, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate croissants are top sellers and the house almond paste and pear crepe is a trip to Europe.

The door is typically open at Mountain Top Cookie Shop, luring Main Street Breckenridge guests with a consistent waft of fresh-baked goodness. Baking perfect cookies at high altitude is no easy feat. Sample the talent with a two-fisted cookie dough delight sandwich made with edible cookie dough piled between two yummy cookies.

Clint’s Bakery and Coffee House

Clint’s Bakery puts loads of love into its baked goodies. Bars, breads, brownies, cupcakes, pies or a simple biscotti or snickerdoodle to go with your cocoa or coffee—Clint’s is a timeless Breckenridge staple for an afternoon window-shopping treat. Try the magic bars for a delicious mess of chocolate, butterscotch, almonds, pecans and coconut.

Crepes A La Cart

Warm up with a Breckenridge staple.

Look for the line of eager customers winding down Main Street from Crepes A La Cart’s cheerful yellow food stand. Walk up to the window and design your own crepe with sweet and savory fixings spanning Nutella and toasted coconut to baby spinach and brie. Or select tried-and-true recipes from the menu. The Cheese Cake crepe is divine with brown sugar and Chantilly cream.

Mom’s Baking Co.

Cozy into the stylish blue couches at Mom’s Baking Co. and sip an afternoon espresso while perusing the European-style bakery case and chatting up owner Ema Landis. The Czech Republic native crafts unique offerings such as baked tea made with seasonal fruit, sweet and flaky strudels and luscious cream-filled eclairs.

Dine Out Desserts:

Aurum Breckenridge dessert cookies

Aurum’s spin on the classic cookies and milk combo.

Breckenridge is also home to an incredible range of upscale dining establishments and sit-down restaurants with harvest-inspired dessert menus and renowned pastry chefs whipping up sugary magic.

If you’re looking for a sit-down night-cap situation, find a candle-lit corner at Ember and order the Hot Chocolate Mess, an epicurean concoction of chocolate avocado cake with banana habanero foam and cajeta caramel sauce. The key lime pie with Grand Marnier whipped cream at The Briar Rose, espresso and coffee liqueur-soaked Tiramisu at Legends and the lemon curd meringue pie with graham cracker crust at Relish are all solid bets. After you’ve had your fill of wine at Aurum, top it off with the sticky toffee cake or their warm chocolate chip cookies served with milk jam and whipped cream.

Out with the whole family? Motherloaded Tavern has the perfect sweet tooth snacks. Share their indoor s’mores- all the fixings over your own personal hibachi… just like camping (without actually camping).

For petite sweet tooth cravings, visit Carboy Winery for two-bite dark truffles, chocolate pot de crème and salted caramel panna cotta from their small sweets menu. They pair perfectly with Carboy’s curated wine flights.
