  • Local’s Tip: Skip the rental car and take a shuttle to Breckenridge from the airport. Once you’re here, getting around Breckenridge without a car is a breeze thanks to free public transit and hotel shuttle services.

 

Where to Eat on a Budget in Breckenridge

Do like the locals do and score cheap eats and drinks during happy hour or après ski. Weekday (and sometimes weekend) specials are typically offered between 3 and 5pm and can include anything from half-off to buy one get one on appetizers, wine, beer and cocktails. 

Opt for quick and easy lunch or dinner options from Breckenridge food carts and walk-up stands. Favorites include Crepes a la Cart, Trolley Crepes, Above the Blue Reddz, Gyros Delish at the Village and Oaxacan Bites food truck on Main Street. Danielle’s Delights on Airport Road is an excellent budget-friendly breakfast stop.

Grab and go is your budget friend. Create your own picnic with sandwiches from Clint’s Bakery, Cool River or The Crown or stop by the Breckenridge Market on Ridge Street for provisions.

Breckenridge lodging runs the gamut from luxury homes hosting multi-family and multi-generational guests to studio condos and hotel rooms. For the best budget lodging and deals, book early and consider visiting during slower months (typically May and August).

Traveling with a group? Splitting a condo, townhome or larger vacation home with friends or another family is a great way to secure affordable lodging. Breckenridge is also home to a handful of budget-friendly hostels.

For ski-in and ski-out ease, you may want to allocate more of your Breckenridge budget toward convenient slopeside lodging near Peaks 7, 8 or 9.

For access to Main Street and nearby trails and attractions, consider a Breckenridge vacation condo with a kitchen and pool or hot tub.
